Private Guide Zagreb at Etnographic Museum
If you are interested in discovering your family roots in Northern Croatia but are unsure where to begin, we are here to help. We can assist you in tracing your ancestry and organising a meaningful visit to your ancestors’ hometown.

To start the research process, we require at least a surname and a specific location — such as a village, town, or parish — connected to your family. With this information, we conduct focused, on-site research by contacting local archives, municipal offices, and parish churches to access historical records, including birth, marriage, and baptism registers. These documents are rarely available online and typically require direct inquiries and personal visits.

When sufficient records are found, we can often identify extended family lines and, where possible, locate relatives who may still live in the area. This allows us to create a deeply personal heritage experience, connecting you not only with places, but also with your family history.

Please note: We do not conduct genetic or DNA testing. Our research is based exclusively on documented historical sources and official local records.
